Owens Realty Mortgage has made the official announcement revealing who would become the successor of ORM Chief Executive officer William Owens. The ORM board directors appointed the company's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Bryan Draper to fill in the CEO position which was effective on January 4, 2016. Former CEO William Owens and Draper has worked together for over 28 years in Owens Financial Group. The former CEO will still be part of the company as the chairman of the board of directors in ORM.
After acting as the sail of ORM as it ventured in Real Estate Investment Trust, Owens willfully decided to step down from the CEO position to focus on his role as chairman of the board. Owens is very confident that his successor will effectively play his new role as CEO. "I have had a long history working together at Owens Financial Group and we share a similar vision for the future of the Company. He is very capable of continuing the growth and expansion that began under my tenure."
Draper graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1979 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He pursued his Master's in Business Administration degree at the University of California in 1981.
Draper's entry to ORM started when he was hired Chief financial officer for Owen Financial Group in 1987. In 2013, he became chief financial officer of ORM and was made part of the board of directors. Draper's vacant positioned will be filled in by Melina Platt.
"I am honored and grateful that the Board and Bill Owens have put their faith in me to lead ORM forward. I am excited to work with the ORM team to continue the plan set forth by Bill and the Board to transform the Company away from real estate investments acquired during the economic downturn by successful sales of properties and reinvestment into quality mortgage loans." says Draper.
