A groovy couple from Los Angles has bought a real estate property located in Laguna Canyon for $799,000. It was said that the couple was amazed by the elegant and well-designed façade of the house which was previously known to be a brothel, a house of ill repute, a report from OC Register said on Thursday.
According to the report, the Laguna Beach Cottage property sits on an 800-square-foot lot which was owned by Valerie Milan, a listing agent of HOM Sotheby International Realty. Milan shared that she and her husband found it hard to sell the property because of its "notorious past" as a house that used to accommodate prostitutes.
"I knew that with the right marketing and patience, I would find that special buyer...who would fall in love with the little brothel, like my husband and I did," she said as quoted in the report.
"The home, at 1575 Arroyo Drive, has had various owners in the past 82 years. Today, the remodeled cottage, set on a 7,400-square-foot lot in Laguna Canyon, has two bedrooms and a bathroom. Features include custom hardwood flooring, double hung windows, granite countertops, and a Thermador gas range," Sun Times said.
Millan also shared that she and her husband have lived in the said property. Her husband is a popular action sports photographer. Milan shared that they are planning to move into a bigger house with their three Yorkshire Terriers and a Shih Tzu.
"The new buyers are a hip and groovy couple from L.A. with a keen eye for aesthetics. I'm excited to see what they do with it and know the home will be in good hands," she added. It was said that the property was previously called the house of "Idlehours." Renovations have been made in the property.
