It seems that Americans develop the habit of moving in and out of their rented or bought homes more frequently these days. A survey by two moving companies, United Van Lines and Atlas, showed the famous states where people mostly move to settle.
Among all the states, Oregon is the place that most people wanted to move in for the past three years. United revealed that Oregon, a northwestern state, has recorded an influx of 69 percent of people moving in, Realtor reports. Michael Stoll, a professor and chair of the Department of Public Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles, claims that Oregon is very popular for movers for its cheap cost of living, green environment and availability of tech jobs.
"This year's data reflects longer-term trends of people moving to the Pacific West, where cities such as Portland and Seattle are seeing the combination of a boom in the technology and creative marketing industry, as well as a growing 'want' for outdoor activity and green space," Stoll said.
A report from 247 wallst claims that Americans also love moving into sun-belt states, including South Carolina, Texas and Florida. Three historical factors influenced the transfer of people to one region, according to Dr. Rebecca Tippett, Director of Carolina Demography at UNC-Chapel Hill's Carolina Population Center. These factors include familial or spousal affiliations, job opportunities and higher education. In the recent years, people are said to be also considering the cost of living, good weather and lower tax rates.
States such as Hawaii, South Dakota, New York, Illinois, and Wyoming are reportedly among the places that most people leave to transfer to another state. Apart from Oregon, most movers also love to relocate to Alaska, Idaho, North Carolina, and North Dakota. This American real estate guide is an important consideration that must be taken by people who would love to move in the coming days or months.
While moving becomes a trend for some Americans, it could be noted that moving isn't an easy task. Most movers move only in short distances due to the costs involved.
