It isn't so surprising to see new buildings being constructed in New York City. However, many have been anticipating an upcoming West SoHo condominium by Renzo Piano, called The SoHo Tower. Thanks to newly released renderings, people can now have an idea of what the 25-story building would look like.

The SoHo Tower is being developed through a partnership between SHVO, Halpern Real Estate Ventures, Itzhaki Acquisition and Bizzi & Partners Development, reports 6sqft.com.

The group initially purchased most of the site for $130 million in 2014. But it was only yesterday when the Commercial Observer reported that the team was able to finally obtain the final portion of land for the project site, 555 Broome Street, for $9 million.

Piano isn't typically dictated by a certain style, but it does feature his trademark aesthetic: "sense of lightness and transparency." RPBW gives a detailed description of the Pritzker Prize winner Renzo Piano's latest project:

"Located along the western edge of SoHo between Broome and Watts Street in New York City, Soho Tower extends the pedestrian neighborhood with new street level commercial spaces on a once vacant site. The 25 story residential towers above will have expansive views from the city to the Hudson River through an articulated and curved glass façade. The fragmented building massing, detail and materiality reinforce the human scale of this project within the scale of the city."

Furthermore, the building will house 115 units of residential space and amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, a tenant's storage, a porte cochere, and even automated parking.

Meanwhile, the mid to upper levels will be granted a view over the low-rise SoHo and TriBeCa neighborhoods until the Hudson River.
