Brian Buckner, known as the "True Blood" writer and producer, recently listed his Encino, CA, mini-compound with an asking price of $3.2 million which he acquired at $3.21 million two years ago.

The private .83-acre suburban spread, privately sited down a long gated driveway just south of Woodley Park and the 101 Freeway. When one sees the home, it apparently costs more after other fees are added like the real estate fees, improvement expenses and upkeep costs which may mean that the veteran television writer and producer might face some loss on the property, Variety reported.

Prior to Buckner's acquisition of the house, it was owned by other famous celebrities which include married actors Amanda Pays and Corbin Bernson, who bought it back in September 2004 for $1.475 million and sold it after 1.5 years for $1.88 million to writer/producer Laurie McCarthy- known for the movies “Reign,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Beverly Hills, 90210." McCarthy lived in the house for long years until she decided to sell it in early 2014, which was then bought by Buckner, Variety reported.

The property has a cottage-style main residence which was built in 1940s. The 3,801-square-feet with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms were extensively renovated featuring an additional living space in a two-story poolside guesthouse.

A bright and sunny double-height living room has a tiled fireplace with glossy, narrow gauge honey blond hardwoods. Just near the living area is a dining space lined with windows where ten or a dozen diners can fit.

Its neighboring kitchen dons a double-height beamed ceiling, white Shaker cabinets, higher-grade appliances, and slab marble counter tops. It also has a working island with three counter height stools. This island, which also serves as a snack counter, divides the food preparation area from the family room.

The master suite is being separated from a private sitting room through a sliding glass door. There are also two additional guest/family bedrooms on the main level of the house as well as a cozy reading nook on the second floor. A built-in cushioned banquette and an office/bedroom with a bathroom is also seen on the second level of the house.

Outdoors, it features a flat yard with expansive lawns, a dining patio that includes a built-in pizza oven and grilling station, and an outdoor fireplace and lounging area. It also has a rectangular swimming pool that is located just outside the master bedroom.

Brian Buckner's credits include “Spin City,” “Friends,” and “Joey.” His property is listed under Victoria Massangale at Compass.
