As the world mourns for the loss of legendary rock icon David Bowie, more and more New Yorkers seem to be paying their respects by going to 285 Lafayette Street, where the "Space Oddity" singer lived with his supermodel wife, Iman, since 1992.
An area outside the building has already been cordoned off, as a mountain of flowers, candles, and letters adorn a shrine for Bowie.
However, those looking to invest in New York real estate - or just looking to buy a home in the area - should keep a keen eye on David Bowie's apartment complex.
According to the New York Post, 285 Lafayette Street currently has a penthouse unit for sale, currently listed at $11.7 million, a decrease from its initial asking price of $12.99 million in March 2015.
Located between Prince Street and East Houston Street in the SoHo/Nolita neighborhood in New York City, the unit boasts of four bedrooms and three and a half baths within 2,890 square feet of space.
Of course, buying the penthouse suite will come with a hefty monthly price tag too - maintenance and taxes can rack up to $7,285 per month. It may seem steep, but if the listing's description is any indication of the lavish apartment, then it might just be worth it:
"Coming off the key-locked elevator and entering directly into a gracious entry foyer is a dramatic double height great room with double stacked windows and a grand centerpiece staircase. The open kitchen features Miele appliances including: a 30" wine cooler, side by side 36" refrigerator and freezer, a convection and speed oven, water filtration and chiller system, stainless cabinets and Corian counter tops."
Not only that, but the dining room can also open up to a private terrace, giving an excellent view of the New York City skyline.
