Richard Gere is having a hard time parting ways with his North Haven mansion, which has been listed on the market for about three years. The 6.3-acre Strongheart Manor property was first listed for $65 million in July 2013 and its was lowered to $56 million in 2014. The renowned actor is now selling the mansion for an asking price of $47.5 million.

The huge property located near Sag Harbor in New York was acquired by Gere for a price of $11.3 million in three individual transactions from 2005 to 2008, according to Variety. The property was placed on the market in 2013 after the actor and Carey Lowell announced their divorce. It is listed with Douglas Elliman. Dubbed as Strongheart Manor, the house was originally built in 1902. Its original design includes two guest houses, a private dock, and an outdoor fireplace pavilion.

After extensive renovation, Gere furnished the mansion with contemporary design, including 12 bedrooms and geothermal heating system. The over 12,000 square feet of space offers pristine views of the Peconic Bay. It also boasts a private pond with a tea house built on a small island, 60-foot swimming pool and an outdoor basketball court. The property also has six fireplaces, patios and porches and features flowering gardens and well-trimmed lawns.

It has guest rooms that offer ocean views and a lounge to relax and unwind. Gere's mansion has a kitchen designed with modern equipment and a center island. There's a sunroom and an outdoor fireplace pavilion to accept guests, Business Insider reports. It also boasts 300 feet of waterfront space and a wonderful backyard where one can watch the sunset every afternoon.
