The Carolina Panthers may have lost the Super Bowl 50, but its star quarterback Cam Newton scored a touchdown for having a "hotter" house, as compared to Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning. The online poll was conducted by real estate firm Redfin, which pitted the two star athletes' real estate savvy.

"Fans can't seem to get enough of these two, comparing everything from their career stats to their fashion choice," Redfin stated on its website. "We thought, for fun, we'd throw one more into the mix--their homes."

Newton's upscale condo in Charlotte, New Carolina was declared the winner over Manning's two-story Georgian-style mansion in Colorado.

According to Biz Journals, Newton purchased his flat in 2012 for $1.6 million. It has 3,285 square feet of living space, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It is located in a high-security building, with only seven residential units.

The pad's interior takes on a modern industrial design, with hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, exposed concrete beams and aluminum tubing. The living area is painted in warm beige and grey. It is decked out with oversized furniture, built-in TV and a built-in marble fireplace.

The industrial design continues in the kitchen with its stainless steel state-of-the-art appliances. The spacious master bedroom boasts of an en suite with an enormous closet, big enough to be another bedroom.

The condo also comes with a slew of luxury amenities, including gym membership and access to the rooftop pool. Another plus point in the real estate scoreboard is Newton's famous neighbor. He lives next to another star athlete, the great Michael Jordan himself.

Although the pad is significantly smaller than Manning's estate, its chic and modern look trumps Manning's traditional abode.

"Peyton Manning's home is no doubt a touchdown, but we really dig the chic and modern look we see in Newton's home, which is why we're naming it the favorite in this NFL real estate showdown," Redfin stated.
