The German supermarket giant Aldi will open another store at Majura Park this 2016.

According to Commercial Real Estate, Aldi Australia spokeswoman confirmed last Friday that the discount supermarket is scheduled to open by the end of August 2016. She announced, "Once open, we expect the store to be Aldi's 11th in the ACT with each of our stores providing approximately 1,000 square meters of retail space." She also announced that it will be located in between Big W and Toys"R"Us.

But the real good news is that it will open jobs for 15-20 people, just like other Aldi outlets. Once opened, it will be Woolworth's number one competitor. At the moment, Woolworth is Australia's largest discount supermarket.

According to Canberra Airport property head Richard Snow, "Building on this momentum, the introduction of Aldi to the Majura Park Shopping Centre in mid-2016 will bring another major international retailer to Majura Park, enhancing the offer and allowing us to remodel the southern area of the shopping centre to improve customer experience, external activation and vibrancy,"

Meanwhile, Aldi continues to expand in the United Kingdom. According to This is Money, Aldi is opening 80 stores by the end of 2016, including in Chipping Norton. Moreover, along with such expansion, Aldi is creating 5,000 jobs across the nation and the jobs include managers, store staff and stock assistants.

Ruth Doyle, Aldi's regional managing director, said, "To support our continued expansion and the ongoing performance of our existing stores, it's important that we attract the right candidates across all of our roles."

Though the publication was not given information about where the 80 stores will be located, it was informed that new stores will be coming to Eastbourne on the south coast and Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds, the luxurious region where David and Samantha Cameron belong.
