Rock star Deryck Whibley is selling his Sherman Oaks home for $2.8 million. According to Trulia, the Sum 41 frontman bought the home for $1.7 million in 2009 after his split with his ex-wife, Canadian pop-rock singer, Avril Lavigne.

Whibley and Avril Lavigne have been longtime friends before they started dating, and in 2005, he proposed to her during their trip to Venice. They got married the following year, but after three years, Lavigne filed for divorce which was finalized on 2010. Whibley, on the other hand, nearly died in 2014 after experiencing liver and kidney failure as a result of his alcohol problem. Since then, the rock star has been trying to move on with his life, and he reportedly just bought a property in Encino, California with a new fiancé.
