A haunted house in Kansas is currently listed for $1 million. According to the current owner of the property which is known as the Sallie House, the value of the home is based on the fact that it is an attraction for thrill seekers. The owner also does not live in the place but rents it out by the hour for those who want to prove who is the bravest. It was reported that people come all the way from different places just to stay and investigate the horrors behind the home.
Listing details reveal that the property has a total of three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a total area of 1,200 square feet. It was said to be investigated and reviewed by some of the famous ghost hunting sites and has been featured in numerous news stories. It was originally available for $400 a night and it was said that the sales so far was good for the owner.
In Zillow's report on the home's history, it was revealed that there were several reasons why the place was called Sallie. The story was that a girl named Sallie was brought to the house and she had acute appendicitis. The doctor who was with her forgot to anesthetize her and she woke up in the middle of the surgery. A different story involved another tenant of the house who had a little girl who claimed to have an imaginary friend named Sallie.
The place was also known for its strange occurrences, and they were said to have become more aggressive when Debra and Tony Pickman moved into the house in 1992. It was reported that the couple conducted an intense investigation on the place and Tony got scratched on his arm while filming. One night, Tony remembered dreaming about being pulled from his bed by a little girl, and when he woke up the next day, there were fingerprint-like burn marks on his arm. The couple decided to move out of the place two years later.
