Bored Panda recently featured two office chairs that were built from old Vespas. According to the report, the chairs were made by Bel & Bel, a studio workshop in Barcelona. The scooter chairs feature the chassis of old original Vespas, and they are upholstered with imitation leather. The chair's height can be adjusted, and they can also be reclined. As an extra feature, the scooter chairs feature functioning lights on the back.
Based on the pictures on the site, the scooter chairs more look like racing car chairs because of the design and color. The chairs are reportedly available in various colors, but since they are limited edition, it's unclear if there are still some units left.
Bel & Bel was founded by designers Carles Bel and Jesus Bel. Their official website features interesting items fashioned out of old pieces. These include furniture, toys, scooters and more.
"Our project began with the readjustment of old objects into functional ones and increasingly we were watching the final designs and projecting them into more innovative, more technological and customized personal pieces. Following this philosophy and after ten years we have managed to declare Bel & Bel as a designer brand for unique and limited pieces with a very recognisable style," reads the About page on the site.
The site further state that the designers' works have been featured in various international exhibitions of Art and Design, which helped the company become a worldwide firm. Bel & Bel's studio is located in 17th-century farmhouse in Barcelona. It was said that the founders regularly meet with artists, filmmakers, musicians and other designers to share ideas and work on various projects.
