Six new Macau hotels are set to built in 2017 at Macau's Cotai Strip. As gambling revenue from the Macau casinos continues to decline, the new hotels are poised to bring back the allure of the region.

South China Morning Post reports that instead of being just support to the Macau casinos, hotels are now given more importance to draw tourists again to the region.

"The hotels used to be more of a support system to the casino industry in Macau, but now, because of gaming revenue decline and fewer high-rollers visiting, the hotels and the rooms themselves have to be elevated in importance," said Glenn McCartney, assistant professor of hospitality and gaming management at the University of Macau.

Among the six new hotels is Wynn Palace, which will reportedly be floral-themed and will open on June 25. In addition, the seven-star THE 13 will open next in summer, which is reportedly catered to the "super rich." The Macau hotel will offer humongous suites, with the Villa de Stephen measuring a total of 30,000 square feet. There will also be units with 2,000 square feet. A total of 200 rooms will be offered in the luxury hotel.

The Parisian Macao is also set to open in the second half of 2016. It is reportedly a "follow-up" to the famous Venetian Macao which opened back in 2007. Just like the Venetian, the Parisian Macao will feature a casino. It will also have a mall that looks like Avenue des Champs Elysees in Paris. To further incorporate the Parisian theme, the resort will feature a rooftop terrace and pool modeled after the gardens of Versailles as well as a half-size replica of the Eiffel Tower with a viewing platform.
