English billionaire Mike Ashley sold his massive Lagorce Circle mansion for $45 million. According to Miami Curbed, the property at 42 La Gorce Circle also known as Castello del Sol was bought by the London-based Michael P. Murray who is the director and president of Mash Miami. Ashley bought the property in 2013 for $30 million which is $7 million below the listing price that was posted in October 2012.
According to The Real Deal, built in 1998, the property comes with four buildings which include the main residence, the guest house, gym and the staff quarters. The compound also features a giant lagoon-style pool with two swimming lanes, an outdoor hot tub, pool bar and a professional tennis court. There is also a three power equipped mega yacht-ready teak docks and 349 feet of bay frontage. There is also a three-story rotunda that features twin staircases.
The property has a total of 11 bedrooms and 14 full bathrooms and has a total of 1.6 acres of land. The interior of the main house has about eight bedrooms, and there is also a theater room, library and a rooftop terrace.
Ashley is the founder of the U.K.-based sporting retailer Sports Direct, and he also owns the Newcastle United Football Club which he bought after paying £135 million. According to Forbes, he has an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion.
In Britain he was ranked the 15th richest people in their 2012 version of Forbes, and he is known to be an intensely private person. He never attended industry functions and never gave interviews to the media. Aside from owning Newcastle, he is also owns about 8.92 percent of the stakes in the Scottish football club Rangers.
