Top Manhattan real estate broker Fredrik Eklund and his husband Derek Kaplan recently snagged a property in in Connecticut's historic Litchfield County for $3.5 million. Last year, The Real Deal reported that the couple bought a property in South Florida, and Eklund revealed that this will serve as a vacation home for the family. He also considered this as his first and only project in Florida, so he felt that he should not miss this investment.

According to Variety, the listing details and the property records reveal that the classic Georgian home was reimagined by the top New York designer John Michael Murphy who bought the property in 2014 for $1.325 million. It was reported that Murphy refurbished the place into his own traditional tastes, thus the price increase.

The 5,144-square-foot residence's center hall entry leads to the cozy living and dining rooms. The common areas all have hardwood floors and fireplaces. The freshly renovated kitchen is designed with stone countertops and white subway tile back splashes which extend all the way to the ceiling. The kitchen is adjoined by a breakfast area.

There is also a screening room which offers built-in media equipment and a wet bar. There are a total of four bedrooms and four bathrooms which include an upper floor master bedroom with a fireplace and a luxury bathroom and other features like a stepdown dressing area and two large walk-in closets. The property offers spectacular panoramic views of the area, and it also has a ringed stone terrace which overlooks the lawns and an infinity edge pool.

The "Million Dollar Listing" star is known for his real estate projects like in 2012, a year before he was married. He paid $1.65 million for a condo in Flatiron District and was able to sell the property in 2015 for $2.995 million. Just this year it was also reported that the couple paid $5,426,000 for a Hudson River-facing home that has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms.
