J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler is selling another of his Tribeca home, and this time it is listed for $30 million. According to New York Curbed, this is the second Tribeca home that the CEO is selling, and the first one was the 6,226-square-foot Franklin Street apartment which was first listed back in 2015. Now, this 9,000-square-foot townhouse on Greenwich Street just hit the market with the current asking price.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the property has a total of five bedrooms and it features a rooftop terrace which offers the view of the Hudson River. It was said that Drexler is selling all of his Tribeca properties because his permanent residence is on the Upper East Side. Both of the properties were designed by Thierry Despont and completed the renovation just last year. Records reveal that Drexler bought the building in 2008 for $5.5 million.
Listing details reveal that the former industrial warehouse is now one of the most luxurious single-family homes created in Manhattan. It was said that the home is filled with stunning fixtures and high quality materials. It gives an industrial past but also a warm and inviting residential setting.
One of the unique features of the home is the grand entrance foyer with glass block which is nspired by Chareau's le Maison de Verre. There is also a large living room that has over 12 foot ceilings at the top of the building. The property also has a total of five bathrooms and two half bathrooms. It has a custom eat-in kitchen, a gym, sauna and commercial-sized elevator.
The building is located just two blocks from Hudson River Park and it is also a few steps away from the heart of Tribeca and Soho. Drexler's first Tribeca apartment was listed in 2015 for $35 million but it was taken off the market and returned with a price cut for $24.95 million. Last December, he sold his Montauk estate for $50 million.
