Married entertainment industry veterans James Mangold and Cathy Konrad sold their Los Angeles home to singer Beck above its original asking price. According to Variety, the property has an asking price of $3 million, but Beck made a deal with $3.15 million.
According to property records, Konrad bought the three-bedroom and 2.5-bathroom Los Angeles cottage for $2.3 million in 2006. The 2,600-square-foot, circa-1964 residence was said to be designed by architect Gerard Colcord and it was also said that the property was previously owned by late Looney Toons cartoonist Lou Lilly.
The residence has retained some of its original features like hand-hewn ceiling beams and several cozy nooks. The second floor of the home has three bedrooms and an office. The exterior of the home has a gated and three-shaded country yard which separates the main house and the detached two-car garage which is topped by additional living space that features vaulted ceiling and curtained-off sleeping areas.
The five-time Grammy winner has already sold many homes across Los Angeles and this includes the luxurious eight-bedroom place in historic Hancock Park which he bought for $6.75 million in 2007. He sold the property to primetime TV drama powerhouse Shonda Rimes in 2010 for $5.6 million. He was also to sell a mid-century ranch house on Malibu home which he bought for $2.05 million after selling it for only $1.65 million.
Just last year, he bought a 1920s Tudor cottage in Santa Monica for $2.7 million. Listing details reveal that the home has a total of five bedrooms and three bathrooms and it has a total area of 2,456 square feet.In the late 2014 he bought a 2,000-square-foot house in the Los Feliz area for $1 million and he continues to own the property as of date.
