The loyal users of the Jordan Brand have long been itching to have a good look at the collaboration of Air Jordan 2 and Just Don. The sneak peek that was given earlier this month, apparently, was not enough.
The brand, apparently, wanted to release luxury silhouettes, as reported by Sneaker Bar Detroit. However, instead of making new models, they decided to make use of an iconic Air Jordan and give it a high-end makeover.
Just Don is a Chicago label that is famous for its in-demand strap-back hats. Jordan Brand's decision to team up with Just Don proved to be a good call, as evidenced by the looks of the final product.
According to Baller Status, the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 will be dropped in the market with a matching jacket and some of Don's signature caps. It was made in a royal blue upper that was paired with quilted leather. To complete the "Don" signature look, it was also made with a matching suede paneling, customized foot beds, and metallic gold branding. Of course, for the extra touch, it also comes in a special packaging.
As reported by Sneaker Bar Detroit, the look that inspired the Just Don Air Jordan 2 was actually the women's lambskin hand bag from Chanel, one that is retailed at $5,000 a piece. Plus, apart from the classic quilted look, another similarity that it has with this highly coveted pair of shoes is that it was also made in Italy.
The Just Don Air Jordan 2 will be available for purchasing in select retailers and Nike.com by Jan. 31. Its price is reported to be $275.
However, those who cannot wait anymore can actually get their hands on a pair earlier. According to Complex, those who are in New York City can head over to the NikeLab store found on 21 Mercer Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The store will be giving out in-store raffle tickets for a chance to buy the sneakers earlier than the rest of America. However, the raffle's mechanics says that only one entry person is allowed and that the winners will be announced on Friday, Jan. 30.
Although they might first come out in the United States, Sneaker News reports that those who live out of the U.S. can also have their own pair pretty soon. The Just Don Air Jordan 2 will be available in selected shops abroad.
