'House of Cards' Season 3: Top 5 Spoilers From Netflix Leak

The episodes of the third season of "House of Cards" due out in two weeks were accidentally released over Netflix and quickly taken down.

According to The Huffington Post, Netflix claims that a bug caused the episodes to be mistakenly uploaded. 10 episodes of the upcoming season were posted but per a tweet from the series's official social media account, the season is composed of a total of 13 episodes.

"This is Washington. There's always a leak. All 13 episodes will launch February 27," said the post.

"Due to a technical glitch some Underwood fans got a sneak peak," said a Netflix rep in a statement, via Huff Post. "He'll be back on Netflix on Feb 27. #no spoilers"

While the episodes were promptly taken down, some fans streaming the premiere were able to finish watching the episode even after Netflix fixed the alleged bug. Vox reports that the opening episode will introduce some new and unexpected conflicts for Frank.

Here is a quick roundup of some scene spoilers noted based on the quick leak.

  1. Peeing on a grave - According to one clip, Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) pees on the grave of one Calvin Underwood, whom Mashable believes to be the character's father.
  2. Claire Heads to the United Nations - According to the summary of chapters 27, 28 and 30. We see that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) is going to a personality in the U.N.
  3. Russia Is Involved - After setting her sights on the U.N, Claire's bid runs into trouble and mentions challenges with Russia and President Petrov. In the new season of the political drama, Russia is looking like a major deal and the Chapter 31 episode summary reveals, "Claire spars with the Russian Ambassador."
  4. Hurricane Challenges -Per the summary of episode eight (Chapter 34), we know the Underwoods will deal with a natural disaster. "A hurricane endangers more than just the entire East Coast and Frank must make a difficult choice."
  5. Middle East Conflict - Towards the end of the series, we will note a mention of the Jordan Valley in the Middle East that will be a cause of conflict.

The summary description of the third season reads, "President Underwood fights to secure his legacy. Claire wants more than being First Lady. The biggest threat they face is contending with each other."
