Fans of the video game, "Mortal Kombat" would soon have a lot of things to be excited about. Word is out that the popular fighting game would soon come out with the tenth installment of the series, which will offer a lot of new features for greater gaming experience.
According to The Fuse Joplin, one of the new updates to "Mortal Kombat X" is the return of the "Living Towers," a tournament-based gameplay first introduced to players in "Mortal Kombat 9."
While the tournament-based gameplay is quite similar to the "Challenge Towers," the "Living Towers" take it up a notch by introducing changes within levels as opposed to the usual increasing difficulties from the "Challenge Towers."
Some changes occur within hours when the game was first started while others take a week to happen.
While the modifiers make the levels more challenging, each completion awards the player with Koins that could be used to purchase within the game for additional weapons.
Meanwhile, a new feature called the "Faction Wars" adds to the excitement of the gamers.
According to the Examiner, this new gameplay is set to encourage players to engage in an "aggressive and elaborate online experience."
Before the game begins, players would be given the chance to choose from one of the five factions: Brotherhood of Shadow, Black Dragon, Lin Kuei, White Lotus, or Special Forces.
Throughout the game, the players' performance would be counted to the faction they belong to. Every win would earn the players special prizes and points.
Wars would be scheduled on a mini-tournament basis every week. The more factions go against each other, the more points the players could earn.
Perhaps one of the best things that NetherRealm Studios created for this new game is the ability of the players from different platforms to fight against one another in the Faction Wars. Those using game consoles such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and personal computers could finally enjoy the same game as well.
While the Faction Wars is an exciting thing upon itself already, the game developers behind "Mortal Kombat X" decided to up the ante and introduce invasions into the game.
Outworld, Chaos or NetherRealm empires could come and attack a territory of any faction within a 24-hour period. Of course, the attacks are not scheduled and players would have to be ready to fight the invaders as it could happen anytime, said Christian Today.
"Mortal Kombat X" is coming to shelves on April 14, 2015.
