Marvel has recently announced the release of another four films that include "Thor 3," "The Black Panther," "Captain Marvel," & "Inhumans."
According to Marvel Studios, the third installment of Chris Hemsworth's Thor subtitled, "Ragnarok" is due to hit theaters Nov. 3, 2017, pushed back from an initially scheduled July 28. "The Black Panther" staring Chadwick Boseman will follow July 6, 2018 while "Captain Marvel" will hit theaters before the year is out on Nov. 2, 2018. The last film announced was multi-superhero flick "Inhumans" slated to hit theaters July 12, 2019.
The news comes after Marvel has confirmed a partnership with Sony Pictures that brings the Spider-Man franchise into the Marvel cinematic universe. The announcements have reportedly been done to accommodate changes following the inclusion of Spider-Man.
Marvel's new date confirmation indicates that the studio is "making some production deadline revisions considering that Spider-Man has already joined the Marvel cinematic universe following the deal between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios on February 10."
It's being rumored that the new Spider-Man will make his debut into the MCU franchise in "Captain America: Civil War." Master Herald also noted Marvel hasn't confirmed any films for Spider-Man -- only an MCU film then a standalone -- it's likely that Spider-Man will join the third and fourth Avengers movie, specifically the two Infinity War films.
Thor: Ragnarok
The third installment featuring the Norse mythological god has confirmed Hemsworth will be reprising his role but per the "Blackhat" actor, a script hasn't been finalized. While there is no indication as to the direction and final plot for the movie, Hemsworth does assure fans that the film will be "big." He adds that it will be a "continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
"There is no script for Thor, the next Thor," revealed Hemsworth to Digital Spy magazine (via KPopStarz). "so I have no idea where we'll end up. But, it's pretty big, this one," said the actor.
Christian Post reports that aside from Hemsworth return as Thor, Loki -- played by Tom Hiddleston -- will also be appearing in the third installment. As it stands, Natalie Portman who plays the love interest of Thor (Jane Foster) has yet to be confirmed.
Relatedly, the dates for the previously announced films "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" and "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" scheduled on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively, remain unchanged.
The soon-to-be-released Marvel film featuring Thor will be "Avengers: Age of Ultron" set t hit cinemas on May 1, 2015.
