Fans of "Final Fantasy" have been waiting for the game's next installment and while Sony has confirmed the game isn't ready for release within this year, it's being estimated that the game will hit the shelves by early 2016.
In a list of games (with 232 PS4, 72 PS3 and 79 PS Vita titles) released by Sony indicating titles which have been released and are planned for release in 2015 in North America, "Final Fantasy XV" was not included but "Final Fantasy Type 0 HD" is set for release by March. Other related games with no release dates include "Final Fantasy VII," "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster," and "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward."
According to MasterHerald, "Among the games listed in the post was 'Final Fantasy Type 0 HD', which is coming out in about a month. As fans of the series probably know, however, the release of 'Final Fantasy Type 0 HD' will be accompanied by a playable demo of 'Final Fantasy 15', titled 'Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae'."
The site also noted that with regards to "Final Fantasy XV" and its release date, it's most likely the early months of 2016 could see the newest "Final Fantasy" installment. Based on MasterHerald's assessment, "all indications point towards a release in the early months."
Even though the release of the new game is about a year away, VG247 shares that on Friday, Feb. 20, in the streaming event later this week, Active-Time Report will feature Hajime Tabata who will show off "Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae" prior to its release in March.
Per Dual Shockers (via VG247), the stream will reveal information that includes game controls and general gameplay.
Relatedly, recalling an earlier report by a 4Chan user (via KDramaStars), "Final Fantasy XV" could come with a multi-player feature.
According to a leaked Sony communication, "a user from 4Chan has posted a document from a leaked Sony email showing Final Fantasy XV would have local multiplayer in it. The users from the site speculated that split screen multiplayer would be the obvious choice and that 2 players can control the characters in the party. However, Cyberland reports that players can connect with each other online and play the game with their friends. Their report says that the host of the game would control the main character while the second player can control any member of the party."
"Final Fantasy XV" is a highly-anticipated action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. It's expected to be released in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
