NBA Trade: Chicago Bulls, OKC Thunder Eyeing Arron Afflalo Before Deadline? [Rumors]

Now that the trade deadline is getting nearer, various teams have upped their ante in landing the players whom they think suit their needs best. One of the most in-demand players today, according to Fan Sided, is the shooting guard from the Denver Nuggets, Arron Afflalo.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN says that a lot of teams in the league actually already started talking with the Nuggets regarding Afflalo. However, nothing has been made official yet. “No serious talks yet for Arron Afflalo, but word is OKC, Kings, Bulls, and Clippers have discussed. Would be an interesting add for a contender,” Shelburne wrote on Twitter.

With a standing score of 20-33, the Nuggets cannot fall further out of the race for this year’s playoffs. With this said, the Nuggets can end up blowing up their roster for prospects and future draft picks. According to Pro Basketball Talk, the team is in its transition phase but no one knows what they are exactly transitioning into.

The report also stated that it would seem that the entire roster is available via trade, which include even the quality basketball players such as Kenneth Faried and Ty Lawson. If what the report says about everyone on the team placed on the chopping block is true, then it looks like the Nuggets has become one big, confused mess.

Hoops Rumors says that there are also other teams who have been consistently linked with Afflalo, and those are the ones excluded from Shelburne’s list of teams. Sadly, some of those teams have reportedly started to lose interest in getting him.

“They’ve been seeking multiple first-round picks for both Wilson Chandler and Arron Afflalo,” said Zach Lowe of Grantland, as per NBC Pro Basketball Talk. “Talking with obvious contender types like the Blazers and ambulance-chasing with banged-up playoff teams like the Wizards. Snagging two firsts for Timofey Mozgov emboldened the Denver front office to chase big returns, and the rest of the league is waiting for Denver to step back as the deadline approaches.”

NBA trade reports seem to point out that the Nuggets will be the poster child for this coming trade deadline. They might attempt to seal deals with different players, but Pro Basketball Talk is confident that they will be unable to land big, significant ones before the Feb. 19 deadline. The team might be able to pull of small ones, but it is highly unlikely that they can manage to complete a game-changing deal before the deadline hits.
