The release of the newest "Star Wars" film is due out this year and according to sources, we could see the movie's second trailer in a matter of weeks.
In relation to a recent report of StarWars.com that both director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy will be attending this year's Star Wars celebration Anaheim event and will being making a grand splash.
The two knowing movie insiders will be joining the special opening event and are announced to "kick off the show in a big way on Thursday morning April 16 at 10:00 a.m." The site further added that, "This will be a day long remembered."
There are sources that expect the pair will not only grace the event to sit in and discuss but may also be the platform where the second trailer could be launched.
According to ComicBookMovie, it's highly unlikely that the news will have to do with Abrams' future as a director or the next film in particular as another director, Rian Johnson, has been linked to the next film, "Star Wars Episode VIII."
"We know that Abrams won't suddenly be announced as helming another Star Wars movie as Rian Johnson (Looper) is already attached to Episode VIII, so a new trailer seems most likely. If that is the case, it seems inevitable that it will be released online moments later, so there's a very good chance that this time and date will be when we next get a look at the movie," assessed the site.
The details as to what the event has in store has been kept under wraps leading many to conclude that there may be a new footage release.
It further added that with the presence of Kennedy, fans could also learn more about the plans for Star Wars. "Potentially even more exciting is the possibility that they will take this opportunity to reveal the upcoming Star Wars slate, similar to what Marvel did last year. We might finally learn what those first two spinoffs are all about," wrote CBM.
"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" stars a mix of original and new cast actors namely, Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) who will star alongside John Boyega, Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley.
The seventh installment of the much-loved franchise takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set to be released in theaters Dec. 18, 2015.
