The 2014-15 UEFA Champions League action is set to resume on Tuesday as four teams try to move one stop closer to reaching the quarterfinals of this year's tournament.
Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain will collide in the first leg of their round-of-16 matchup on Tuesday at Parc Des Prince in France, which is expected to be filled up with PSG supporters.
PSG finished second to FC Barcelona in Group F during the group stages with 13 points, while Chelsea ended up on top of Group G with 14 points in six matches.
PSG boss Laurent Blanc told reporters that he is expecting a mind game against his Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho. Blanc said that he has already warned his players and asked them to keep their composure, particularly strike Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will be the focus of their offensive attack on Tuesday.
"I know Jose Mourinho a bit and I know he'll raise the heat," Blanc said via ESPN FC. "So my players need to remain cool headed, not react and keep calm."
Chelsea might have to make adjustment in their Last-16 match against PSG as Mourinho confirmed that veteran midfielder Cesc Fabregas could miss the game due to an illness, but he is still hoping that the 27-year-old will recover in time to play.
Good thing for the Blues, striker Diego Costa, who has already netted 17 goals in 19 English Premier League appearances this season, will make his return from a three-game suspension. However, Mourinho is unsure how well will their star striker contribute after being sidelined over the past three weeks.
Meanwhile, in the other match of the day, Bayern Munich will face Shakhtar Donetsk in the opening leg of their round-of-16 matchup on Tuesday at Arena Lviv in Ukraine.
Shakhtar is technically the host of the first leg, but they will not enjoy home advantage as they will not be playing at Donbass Arena because of the ongoing military conflict in the area.
Bayern Munich, who finished first place in Group E during the classification phase, will be a heavy favorite against Shakhtar, but Bayern boss Pep Guardiola warned his players that there should be no room for complacency, knowing that their opponent could pull off an upset.
"As the Barcelona coach, I came up against Shakhtar four or five times," Guardiola said in a news conference. "They have outstanding central defenders and excellent Brazilian midfielders, very quick players. They have bags of experience in this competition."
Both UEFA Champions League matches will kick off at 2:45 p.m. EST. Fans can catch the action via online live stream on Fox Soccer 2 Go, Sky Go and ITV Player.
