Android Lollipop 5.0 Update for Galaxy Note 4, Note 3, Edge Rolling Out?

Samsung has been reportedly making a lot of progress when it comes to distributing the new Android Lollipop 5.0 update to its Galaxy Note series, such as the Note 3 and 4, and the Edge, according to Tech Times. However, many Galaxy Note users in the United States expressed their dismay in the delay since they are still waiting for the update to reach their devices.

For the Galaxy Note 4, the delay was reportedly due to coding issues. On the bright side, the updates managed to make it to other territories such as in Germany, South Korea, and Poland. The report mentioned that a schedule has already been confirmed for France and Canada, which could only mean that it will soon be getting to the United States as well.

Sadly, Android Origin pointed out that the update turned out to be not everyone’s cup of tea. It still comes with bugs, while others complained about the way it looks. The report even seemed to imply that the update was actually a downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat, especially as certain features were removed such as the Status Bar Ticker and Silent Mode.

A separate Android Origin report indicates that the Note 4’s bigger counterpart has also gotten Android 5.0 Lollipop attention. Unexpectedly, it got to Australia earlier than the other territories. This comes as a surprise to most since this country usually gets the updates at a later time. Galaxy Note 4 users in these areas can now make use of an added feature, which is an all-new mute function that was not available with its predecessor units.

The update is presently accessible over the air (OTA) in Australia, and Gizbot says it will be ready to reach other markets in a few weeks. Unfortunately, the official change log is unavailable. Still, rumors say that a lot of improvements is to be expected such as in its TouchWiz UX, notifications, performance enhancements, and ART as its default run-time.

For Galaxy Note 3 users, no official news about the Android Lollipop 5.0 update getting to their units has been announced. However, Sprint unintentionally revealed that the update will be reaching the United States soon. The update already reached international variants in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
