Miami Heat News: Chris Bosh Discharged Soon Says Spoelstra, What's Next?

A few days earlier Miami Heat star Chris Bosh was declared out for the season on Saturday after blood clots were found in one of his lungs. NBC Sports ProBasketballTalk has reported that following the health announcement regarding the 30-year-old, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has shared that Bosh won't be staying in the hospital for long.

The baller is receiving medical attention and currently being treated with blood thinners and expects Bosh will be discharged from the hospital very soon.

Ira Winderman shared the news via Twitter by saying, "Spoelstra said he expects Bosh to be released from the hospital, "soon. I don't have an exact date."

On Saturday when it was announced that the forward's season has come to an end and it was revealed that his wife Adrienne had been the one to push for the player's check up.

Bosh had been experiencing pain in his side and back for a number of days and according to Heat teammate Dwayne Wade (via The Star), "He was able to get in front of it early." Wade added that spotting it early was a big deal, "That's the good thing that helps all of us sleep at night."

Additionally, the Heat has shared that Bosh "is receiving care under the guidance of Miami Heat team physicians" and that "his prognosis is good."

Bosh remains in good spirits and took to social media late on Saturday to thank everyone for all the "messages, love and support," reports ESPN.

While there is no specific timeline as to when Bosh will be leaving the hospital, plans for discharge are always a good sign of medical recovery. MasterHerald notes that the condition is a serious one as the clots could have spread to other parts of his body.

It was only last week that 52-year-old former NBA player Jerome Kersey died of the same condition without displaying any symptoms.

There is no change in the announcement that Bosh is out for the season. Full recovery will require blood blood-thinning medication, which he is already doing, as well as intake of other prescription medicines as well as possible rehab and retraining before they can return to the same grueling physical sports activities.
