Last week audiences were teased with a 40-minute "Final Fantasy XV" footage running on PlayStation 4 which was pulled straight from the demo itself. The nearly hour-long gameplay was revealed by Game Director Hajime Tabata of Square Enix.
The demo titled "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae" will be exclusive to "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," reports PlayStation Blog. "We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line, said Square Enix to the Blog.
Additionally, the demo will be limited to the "Day One" edition of the game meaning only those who manage to pre-order and have their item included in the first shipment or receive in on launch day will get the demo.
The "Final Fantasy XV" demo will take an estimated run-time of three hours to complete.
"You get a game over when Noctis is unable to battle. Even if your HP drops to 0, it doesn't mean you aren't able to battle. First you are in a "critical condition" status. In critical condition, a red gauge is displayed and if that gauge runs out, you'll get a game over. Before the gauge depletes, you can use items or be healed by your companions. If you heal, you'll be fine," translated Gematsu of the Q&A (via PlayStationLifestyle.net.
DualShockers shared that it was confirmed by Tabata that "Episode Duscae" demo will not run in full 1080p/30fps on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 but is the present target resolution for the final game.
Aside from the big reveal, Kotaku also reports that per Tabata, the game is more than halfway done. "We're now at 60 percent," said the director and in no time, they estimate hitting 80% completion. Following the next milestone, the remaining 20% should come together nicely.
He shared that the last leg should "fall into place in a relatively smooth and timely fashion." Lastly, Tabata revealed during his presentation that unlike demo, the full map for "Final Fantasy XV" will be abut 10-20 time larger.
Per another article by Kotaku, based on the footage provided and the process shared by Square Enix, the game is estimated to out within the next two years.
