LG G4 Release Date, Specs & Review: LG G4 Out Weeks After MWC 2015? LG Confirms Four New Phones

The next-generation LG G4 smartphone is one of the most hotly awaited devices. However, LG has annouced that the G4 won't be launched during the MWC 2015 in March. So, when and where could we see the device?

Expert Reviews admits that unlike other smartphone firms, LG has been rather unpredictable with their release dates. Recalling the launch of the earlier LG G smartphones, the G2 was unveiled September 2013 but the next device, the LG G3, was released less than a year later, May 2014.

According to the Korea Times (via Expert Reviews), an LG executive has already revealed that the device won't be showcased during the upcoming MWC 2015. "We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and [will] spend more time perfecting the new phone," quoted the publication of the executive.

What the company has confirmed is that it will be showing off four new mid-range smartphones during the March show.

"LG's new lineup of four mid-range smartphones - Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy - builds on LG's design language to bring optimized performance and effortless user experience to a broader range of consumers. By combining the most essential hardware with LG's premium design elements and user experience, LG has created the perfect balance of style and usability," said LG in its statement.

Speaking about the new devices, Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said that "LG's new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices."

LG G4 Rumored Release Date

With the G3's successor skipping the upcoming event, while fans may be disappointed ZDNet Korea reported a device release won't be long. "LG executive promised to launch the device in the second quarter of 2015, before revealing a bit more about the flagship handset," reported the publication (via Techno Buffalo).

A second quarter release could mean a launch as early as April, reports Tech Radar, which many others sources are also citing. However, it could also mean a release as late as end of June. The site continued that it's most likely the device will debut in May. Give or take some time, we are probably going to see the LG G4 in a matter of weeks from the MWC 2015.

Some expected specs for the device include an improved camera, 5.5-inch Quad HD display and Snapdragon 810 processor, to name a few.
