With the opening of the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona this March, the battle for smartphone supremacy has already begun days before the event. HTC and Samsung are both unveiling new devices before MWC, and word is out that the two companies have made available their product launch to people outside the event via live stream.
According to BGR, both the Taiwanese firm and the Korean company have decided to share the unveiling of their next flagship devices to fans at home by coming up with live stream links of the event to provide access to fans in the comfort of their homes.
Samsung has already set up a link on its YouTube channel, which would be accessible by viewers on March 1.
The event, dubbed as "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015," would be live at 6:30 P.M. in Barcelona or 12:30 P.M. in New York, said Ubergizmo.
It is rumored that the Korean company would launch the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at the event. The Edge version is reportedly the version with dual curved edges on it. It remains to be seen when the company finally unveils its new devices.
A report on Gizmodo has shown a leaked photo of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6, which has a screen on its three sides. While the image is reminiscent of the Galaxy Note Edge, it seems that the curved edge, which has the notifications tab on it, is not the same as the said phone and might be of a different utilization.
The new flagship device from Samsung hopes to further increase its share in the smartphone pie, as Apple continues to dominate the scene with its own iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, said Redmond Pie.
The live stream link for the Samsung Unpacked event could be found at the Samsung Mobile Channel in YouTube.
Meanwhile, HTC, which is expected to unveil the HTC One M9 during its March 1 event, has also set up a live stream page that could be accessed from the company's website, said Techno Buffalo.
The start of the event is at 4 P.M. in Barcelona, which is 10 A.M. New York time.
It is rumored that the company would not only unveil the HTC One M9, which is the next flagship device to replace the HTC One M8 from last year, but other products and gadgets in the Taiwanese firm's pipeline as well.
Live stream link of the HTC One event could be found at the company's official website.
