'The Division' Game Release Date is 'Scarily Close' Says Devs; PvP Gameplay Detailed

“The Division” by Tom Clancy is “arguably one of the most anticipated upcoming games for 2015,” according to Examiner. The report also has some details regarding its testing process, PVP, and a possible release date.

Since “The Division” was announced during E3 2013, it has reportedly been getting a lot of development. The game’s PVP areas, referred to as Dark Zones, are some of these rigorous developments. Developers working for Ubisoft Massive have given away some key information regarding the game’s Player vs. Player capabilities, as reported by Game Spot. It was reportedly part of the podcast on “The Division” that was uploaded on Soundcloud.

These PVP zones allow gamers to interact with other live participants in an in-game conflict. Since “The Division” features games that are to-the-death, there is a huge possibility that players will be losing items once they end up getting killed by their opponent.

Although it sounds like any other PVP game, game director Ryan Barnard insists that the PVP mode of “The Division” will be different from their competitors.

The game’s alpha testers allegedly leaked further details about how large the PVP areas are going to be. According to Design & Trend, there can be as much as 50 to 100 players within each zone. Once the fight has started, formed teams can go head-to-head with other teams and even unit in a co-op in order to take down bigger groups of players.

The report also mentioned that human players will be joined by NPCs, or non-playing characters that can create additional objectives.

“It’s another one of the great ways that we’re really changing up what’s been done previously in this genre,” Barnard said. “We want PVP to be important. A lot of times, it’s hard in a mainstream game. It’s hard to get people. People are a little averse to it. It can be a little freaky. It’s generally very competitive.”

To date, Ubisoft has not given any release date, or even a release time frame, for “The Division.” Since it is reportedly highly likely that “Rainbow Six: Siege” and “Assassin’s Creed” will be out by this fall, it will come as a shock if “The Division” is released earlier. However, Martin Hultberg from Massive Entertainment could only say this about the launch date: “It’s scarily close.”

None of the leaks have been confirmed by Ubisoft, as per WCCFTech. However, if ever they do come out as true, then this could only mean that the gaming company’s carefully selected alpha testers did not hesitate to break the NDA, or non-disclosure agreement, at all.

“The Division” will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 when it finally reaches the market.
