Mobile users waiting for the latest product from Sony would now have something to look forward to as the Japanese tech firm will reportedly unveil new devices on the Mobile World Congress. If rumors are to be believed, then the gadgets are packed with a lot of new features.
According to GSM Arena, the Japanese company which brought the Xperia series to the market would be unveiling not one but two devices at the MWC 2015. The rumored gadgets are a new smartphone and a tablet.
However, users waiting for the latest smartphone would be disappointed to learn that the company will not release the Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone as expected. Instead, the Japanese firm would release the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet.
In a report by Air Herald, the new Xperia M4 Aqua is a lower-end device with better water and dust resistance features. Not much has been leaked about this new unit except that users would have a first glance at it during the said event.
While no Xperia Z4 smartphone would be unveiled at this year's MWC event, the company seemed to make up for this setback by coming out with the new Xperia Z4 Tablet.
According to The Verge, news of the new tablet circulated when a photo of the upcoming device was leaked at the Xperia Lounge. However, the said picture was immediately pulled out.
It was described to have "the latest ultra-fast processor," outfitted with "industry-leading battery performance," and equipped with a "stunning 2K display."
Meanwhile, Xperia Blog noted that the tablet's design would not have much difference than the previous Z3 Tablet that came out last year. The size, though unconfirmed, may still retain the 10-inch display that its predecessor sported.
In a report by Tech Times, the leaked post in the Xperia Lounge reportedly mentioned that the new tablet would arrive on March 3 at the MWC in Barcelona.
Not much has been reported on the said tablet, but previous rumors noted that the device from Sony might feature a 2.86 GHz Qualcomm 810. It was also rumored that it would be outfitted with 6 GB of RAM alongside a 64 GB of internal memory space.
The tablet's camera would still retain the 8.08 MP resolution with a 25 mm F1.8 Carl Zeiss lens.
No price was revealed for the unit while further updates and specs are expected to be known once it gets launched at the MWC.
