The city’s 10 priciest home sales this year totaled more than a half-billion dollars — fueled by the purchases of three apartments at a Midtown building modeled after a trash can.
The top three sales were all in 432 Park Avenue, whose design, its developer, Harry Macklowe, has said, was inspired by a wastepaper basket. The 85-story tower bills itself as “the tallest residential structure in the Western Hemisphere.”
