An “Adventure Time” movie is believed to be in the works, according to Screen Rant. Deadline says that the feature will be produced by Roy Lee and Chris McKay, who happen to be one of the geniuses behind “The Lego Movie.”
The animation boasts of a handful of cleverly named characters, majority of which feature the voices of some of today’s biggest celebrities. Mark Hamill is featured as Evil Guy, Marceline the Vampire Queen as Clors Leachman, and Flame Princess as Olivia Olson. Other stars who have lent their voices include Neil Patrick Harris, Andy Samberg, George Takei, and Paul Reubens from “Pee-Wee Herman.”
The rumors that an animated film for “Adventure Time” would be released have been circulating online from quite some time now, according to Huffington Post. Adam Muto, the executive producer of the Cartoon Network animated show even mentioned on a YouTube video that he would like to give an “Adventure Time” live-action movie a chance.
The upcoming “Adventure Time” is most likely going to be animated. However, those who would like to see a live-action rendition of the hit cartoon can view a fan-made movie trailer made by Gritty Reboots, as shared by a separate Huffington Post report.
The story of “Adventure Time” follows the interesting escapades of Finn, a 12-year-old boy, and his best friend, Jake, a magical yellow dog who makes a lot of bacon pancakes. Although they do a lot of things in their adventures, their main goal is to keep the Land of Ooo and Princess Bubblegum safe and away from the evil powers of the Ice King.
The animation may have been primarily made for children, but managed to attract an adult following since it started airing on Cartoon Network. The show even received a lot of awards, including getting two to three million viewers in a week.
“Adventure Time” developed into such a huge animation hit that even Dr. Martens, an internationally celebrated boot brand, decided to get in on the Cartoon Network fun. The brand teamed up with the network to come up with a special edition of footwear for their #StandForSomething campaign for Spring/Summer 2015, according to Complex.
The collaboration resulted in three boot designs inspired by the characters. One of them features Finn, the second style features Jake, and the third design has an overall print of both main characters.
