New Google Headquarters Photos: Best 5 Features of California HQ

Google has recently acquired the design services of two known architecture firms to work on its California headquarters.

Earlier news by Architect's Newspaper blog confirmed that the Copenhagen and New York-based Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and the London-based Heatherwick Studio were chosen by Google to create its new HQ.

Together with famous and respected architects, Google labored on conceptualizing the new headquarters with features to better serve the community within. A report from Silicon Valley Business Journal gives details on how Google intends to achieve such.

These are the 5 best features expected from Google's New HQ, based from photos and descriptions:

Eco-Chic

The masterplan aims for the inclusion of alternative energy generation, canopy-like buildings having photovoltaics technology, massive infrastucture improvements to prepare for rising sea level. All these details were well-thought off, like planning a modern city within a city and not just a simple office compound.

High-Tech

Google planned for groundbreaking developments in the Mountain View areas, aiming for it to be a modern and tech-savvy city. Four construction sites will be built on more than 3 million sq. ft. of land.

One of the sites, called The Landings, is scheduled to rise by the year 2020, closely followed by another one on Huff avenue, in the same year. The rest will be delivered in just 4 years after Huff's.

Community-Oriented

Google did not just think of themselves when planning this New Google HQ. They thought of the Mountain View residents in mind. They proposed a public safety building and a bike bridge for the public's benefits. Google also aims for the future of Mountain View be later told by generations to come as a great modern city.

Futuristic Design

Building structures would be made from light materials that moving floors and walls could be possible. Imagine readily to be transported or moved floors and even the walls defining rooms! This transformation will be made possible by "crabots" or inspired from cranes and robots in a matter of hours only.

Dramatically Artistic

With photovoltaics integrated into the canopies, the canopy-like structures can generate its own electricity. Layers of canopies providing comfort and controlling ambiance. With the help of the imaginative renditions of Bjarke Ingels Groups on making Copenhagen Danish infrastuctures and Heatherwick Studio on the Olymic Caukdron, this is a promising and exciting development in store for us.
