‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Release Date & Plot: Iron Man vs. Spidey Fight to be Featured in New Movie? [Rumors]

Rumor has it that the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot, reportedly slated for a July 28, 2017 release date, will feature Iron Man, as played by Robert Downey, Jr., in a key role. Latino-Review says that Tony Stark’s role comes in quite early in the movie’s storyline, given that the reboot is said to be skipping over the discussion of how Peter Parker became Spider-Man.

According to the report, the film is going to dive right into Spider-Man’s entry in the Avengers. Cinema Blend says that a part of the film will “involve Spider-Man fighting Iron Man.” The scene will serve as an audition process to determine if the web-slinging superhero has what it takes to be part of the superhero team.

Movie Pilot says that Dylan O’Brien was chosen as the new Spider-Man. This detail remains unconfirmed to date, but many believe it to be true since the guy who leaked this piece of information is the same guy who revealed that Spider-Man will be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“So, Dylan O’Brien is pretty much our new Spidey from the look of things,” the tipster said. “A source tells me he gave Sony the audition of his life, who, by the way, absolutely loved what they saw from him. Amy Pascal and team knew they had their Spider-Man.”

Reports say that Peter Parker has already been decided to be a high schooler. “If everything goes well, we’ll see Parker evolve into an adult over a series of trilogies which provides an interesting dynamic that in and of itself comes with a variety of dilemmas to explore,” a report from Uproxx said, according to 2Paragraphs.

However, Rickey is convinced that it will not be O’Brien landing the Spidey role. The report says that since the franchise will feature the superhero maturing before the audience’s eyes, much like with the “Harry Potter” franchise, the studio will most likely choose an actor who is more convincing as a high school student.

Just last Wednesday, Robert Downey, Jr. took to social media to tell his fans and followers that Marvel will have a “big announcement” on March 5, Thursday. However, further details about this great reveal were not divulged. A separate Cinema Blend report says that the only thing RDJ would say about it was, “Don’t tell ‘em I told you.”
