Colin Trevorrow, the director of “Jurassic Park 4” which has an actual title of “Jurassic World,” has very big shoes to fill after Steven Spielberg first introduced the world of modern day dinosaurs in 1993. The design of the deadly new dinosaur, the Indominus Rex or I-Rex was revealed through the movie’s merchandising items such as its toy line with Hasbro.
Screen Rant reported that official artwork from the film has just been revealed on JurassicWorld.com, which showed seven new dinosaur breeds to be seen in the “Jurassic World” theme park.
The dinosaurs may look uniquely interesting, but the movie’s trailers and previous teaser photos failed to impress the franchise’s fans as much as Spielberg did with his 90s hit. Spielberg made use of prosthetic costumes, early technology for computer-generated imagery, and animatronics for the film’s iconic dinosaurs.
The upcoming “Jurassic Park 4” might be backed by today’s latest and most up-to-date film technology, but that does not necessarily guarantee that it will be a better movie experience for today’s viewers.
One of the interesting details about the movie’s latest dinosaur, the I-Rex, is that it is female, as pointed out by Air Herald. The I-Rex was featured in the film’s first trailer but it was strategically kept hidden.
Through Hasbro’s toy figures, fans of the “Jurassic Park” franchise now know that this new massive dinosaur breed will feature a minty green and grey complexion with horns right at the top of its head. Plus, its arms are much longer compared with a standard T-Rex.
Apart from the gender and the actual look of the I-Rex, RaptorPass also revealed a video that shows how the baby dinosaurs were created “inside the Hammond Creation Lab.” The clip gives a sneak peek into how the lab’s team of scientists works on “extracting, sequencing, and assembling fossils,” as reported by Design & Trend.
Additionally, Radio Times says that the real in-movie Jurassic Park will actually be called Jurassic Cove. It will be a part of Jurassica, which is advertised to be “the world’s most spectacular prehistoric visitor attraction.”
“The Jurassic Cove will not be a theme park display,” said Michael Hanlon, a known scientist journalist. “But, a spectacular and precise snapshot in time that will bring the heritage of the Jurassic Cove to life for the first time.”
David Attenborough, the project patron of “Jurassic Park 4,” unveiled Jurassic Cove’s 1:100 scale model recently. Since the model had a Dorset setting, it did not have a tropical environment. However, it will be part of the 95-mile Jurassic Coast.
