An old house from a tiny island south of Iceland called Elliðaey is now starting to trend online. This was after reports called this white house the "world's most isolated house."

If you will check out pictures of the said island, the house would not be easily identified. It's very small, though the color white paint surely stands out.

Years had passed, but no one really knows who lives in the tiny home, in the middle of the island.

The Sun reported, however, that the house was actually a home to many families throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. In the 1930s, the last residents of the isolated house moved to somewhere else, leaving the tiny home filled with mysteries up to this date.

Tons of rumors leaked

Since it's very uncommon to see a built-house in the middle of nowhere, many people have speculated different theories on whose house it is, or why it's built.

One rumor suggests that the tiny house was built by a billionaire, who'd expect to live there once the zombie apocalypse happened.

Even Icelandic singer-songwriter Bjork was mentioned in the theories, saying she built the house in the middle of the island and that she was already in talks with the government to buy the whole area.

The theories are surely eye-catching to many people. But, the truth is, this tiny white house was built as a staying lodge for hunters around the island.

That's the explanation of why the tiny home has a sauna room-- in which to benefit the tired fishermen. There is also no electricity, internet, running water, or even indoor plumbing inside the house.

Despite its lack of amenities, tour companies have been offering tourists day trips on the island. Currently, Elliðaey is officially listed as a nature reserve and a protected area of Iceland.
