The so-called 'indestructible' Mohamed Hadid mega-mansion in Bel-Air, Los Angeles, is now on sale for $8.5 million. Dubbed as "the Starship Enterprise" is located at 1.2-acre lot of Strada Vecchia Road. What makes this mansion as the "most controversial celebrity home"?
Inside Mohamed Hadid controversial home
Standing in a lot that has violated the city's construction rules, the Mohamed Hadid's mega-mansion is an unfinished 30,000-square-foot mansion, located in the city.
It is called as "the most controversial mansion in Los Angeles" due to its clear violations in the city's construction laws. In fact, in 2018, several homes near the mansion sued Hadid for the building.
They said that the position of the mansion was dangerous, that has a tendency to slide down its hillside perch and crush the homes below.
Unfortunately, the case did not go as planned. After a few years, Hadid even mentioned in an interview that he vowed to never demolish the mansion adding, "This house will last forever. Bel-Air will fall before this will."
However, on Thursday, Jan. 7, the mansion hits the market for $8.5 million, according to listing agent Jonathan Nash of Hilton & Hyland.
What happens to the mansion
Since the demolition for the mansion was already set, the buyer of the 1.2 acre lot will have to witness the demolition of the mansion itself.
After the house is sold, it will be immediately destroyed with proceeds of the sale funding the demolition, which will take about six months.
