‘Minecraft’ Downloads & Updates: ‘Simpsons’ DLC Pack for Xbox One, Xbox 360 Rolls Out; PS4, PS3 Version Coming? [Video]

"The Simpsons" skin pack DLC has finally rolled out for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions of Minecraft, The Fuse Joplin reported. Sadly, PlayStation versions may have to wait a bit further.

The report has stated that, since Microsoft bought Mojang, the company has been pushing exclusives to Xbox consoles. Although many of today’s gamers might share this same sentiment, the truth of the matter is that Minecraft has always been notably slow on the uptake with regards to their PlayStation consoles. Minecraft had only launched for PS nearly a full year after its Xbox version came out.

Rumor has it that the Minecraft "The Simpsons" DLC will not be as enjoyable as it is marketed to be. According to Yibada, it will be very tiny, that gamers may not even notice the Simpsons feature. This would defeat the purpose of getting the Simpsons skin pack if the special Simpsons theme is hardly noticeable.

However, the Inquisitr says that things are the way they are supposed to be with the new update. After the completing the update, gamers can easily see "The Simpsons" avatars. They can even change the skin colors of their avatars while they are still playing the game.

Xbox Wire says that they can even re-create Springfield and make it look the way they want it to with the entire titular family, as well as the 19 other famous characters from Springfield Elementary, as popularized by the hit TV cartoon series.

“The Simpsons” has been airing on TV for more than twenty years and now, with this special Minecraft edition, fans can finally see their cartoon idols in pixilated versions.

“The Simpsons” skin pack is now out in the market and is being sold for $2.99. However, as previously mentioned, it can only be availed by Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamers. Sadly, to date, there are still no details about when the pack will be released for other gaming platforms. Thankfully, The International Business Times has insisted that the developer will be revealing more details as they come.

“We are aiming for all DLC packs to arrive on Sony platforms. Just takes time to sort that out,” console versions developer 4J studios wrote on Twitter. This confirms that “The Simpsons” DLC pack is certainly on its way to reach PlayStation units, namely, Ps4, PS3, and PS Vita versions, pretty soon. The report from The International Business Times says that 4J will be making more news about it on the upcoming Game Developers Conference.
