No coronavirus or lockdown could stop this newly opened Maldives resort from taking the luxury resort industry by storm due to its jaw-dropping views, amenities, and services.
"Ithaafushi - The Private Island" under Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi resort officially opens this week. The real estate being promoted as the "largest private island resort" boast a 32,000-square-meter stretch of property, which beach lovers could enjoy at a starting rate of $80,000 per night.
Hilton Asia Pacific (Waldorf Astoria's parent company) vice president for luxury and lifestyle Nils-Arne Schroeder described the island's architecture and interiors as "refined yet modern with a nod to Maldivian charm."
"Designed for the most discerning of travelers, the Ithaafushi -- The Private Island is the epitome of exclusivity, perfectly placed within one of the most inspirational destinations in the world where a dedicated team anticipates every need and delivers the brand's elegant and effortless service at every turn," Schroeder said in a statement.
How to get there?
The new Maldives resort is easier to locate when guests are coming from the international airport in Male's capital. They have two options going to Ithaafushi -- The Private Island. The first option is via a 40-minute ride on one of the six yachts owned by the resort, while the second choice is through a 15-minute flight where guests can enjoy breathtaking seaplane views of the island. While the Maldives island does not require all travelers to have a mandatory quarantine upon arrival at the Velana International Airport, they will still be required to present other documents to ensure they are COVID-19 free. Guests, except Maldives citizens, must present a negative PCR test done 96 hours before departure. It should reflect the guest's name, address, and laboratory, and date of the test.
Luxury amenities
With a total of three buildings, the resort could accommodate at least 24 guests. They can choose from a variety of rooms, such as:
- Two-bedroom overwater villa, which features indoor and outdoor rain showers, a shared living room, infinity pool, and a jacuzzi.
- Three-bedroom beach villa with has two swimming pools.
- Four-bedroom residence, complete with two king bedrooms, two queen bedrooms, a large common area, and jacuzzies.
On top of these exclusive villas, guests can also enjoy luxury amenities, including a fully equipped gym, meditation & yoga pavilion, a children's pool, and a gaming area. Guests can also experience a real luxury resort treatment because they will have their personal concierge team.
Recreation
The luxury resort is not only rich in pristine white beach and spectacular views but also a mouthwatering dining experience. It boasts an exceptional culinary team to create a five-star menu in different varieties
Guests can also dine at the main Waldorf Astoria Resort, which has ten specialty dining venues, including The Ledge created by Dave Pynt - the same chef from the Michelin-starred Burnt Ends restaurant in Singapore.
The Maldives island resort could also cater to recreational activities such as yacht rides, watersports, diving, and customized spa treatments.
