For some people, a dream house means having a multiple story building complete with facilities like a large living room, entertainment area, a swimming pool, multiple car garage, a home theatre, and more. Who would not want to live in a luxurious mansion, right?
People who embrace the art of downsizing and living in a small space will surely make their dreams come true with this village that offers tiny homes for sale for as low as $1,000.
Real estate developer ESCAPE offers an alternative to apartment living through their tiny house village at Tampa Bay, Florida.
Since the coronavirus pandemic hit every side of the world, more people are showing interest in shifting to a small-space living lifestyle leading the developer to expand their 10-home village to 40 more units.
In an interview with Dwell, ESCAPE founder Dan Dobrowolski said that they did not expect to receive a high demand for a tiny house in a short time.
"The opportunity to work remotely, reduce the carbon footprint, and still live in a beautiful home for a fraction of the cost has energized people to consider tiny living," Dobrowolski said.
The little community in Tampa bay is ESCAPE's second tiny home village. The first is located at Canoe Bay in northwest Wisconsin, which launched earlier last year.
Dobrowolski said that while the tiny home village in Canoe Bay feels like a retreat house, Tampa Bay offers an active lifestyle as it has easy access to metropolitan hubs.
"People want more privacy, an increased sense of personal space, and security," the founder added.
Tiny House Features
The tiny homes for sale range from 400 to 1,700-square-feet can accommodate at least two to six people. Each house has its own lot in the village, complete with parking space, security, and a little community of its own.
The village offers ten uniquely designed tiny house units with an open floor plan, modern appliances, thermopane windows, energy-saving LED lighting, USB outlets, and solar power.
One unit features interiors like a queen-size bedroom with a ceiling fan, a kitchen with stainless convection range, a large dining/ working table, built-in storage, a fold-flat couch, and a fireplace shower room, water heater, and a Smart TV.
Tiny House Cost
The price varies depending on the buyer's unit of choice. One unit can be rented for $475 a month or bought at a $702 monthly payment with 15-year payment terms. Meanwhile, another unit that features a 54' extended property has a price tag of $164,450.
ESCAPE Tampa Bay Village also offers a payment scheme wherein, after the down payment, the estimated $1,200 monthly fee will be divided into rent and payment toward earning the tiny house title.
The tiny home for sale has attracted diverse buyers, including millennials, retirees, newly-wed couples, and small families with only one or two kids. This group of people found an opportunity to live a different lifestyle embracing the art of downsizing without compromising day-to-day living essentials.
