After nearly three years in the dating arena, A-list couple Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have officially moved into a grand Malibu mansion they recently purchased.
A source told E! News that the Coldplay frontman bought the property for a whopping $12.5 million, and the "50 Shades of Grey" actress is living with him on the said luxurious estate.
While the South California home's price tag seems a hefty amount, the couple actually scored a good deal as the initial asking price was $14 million when it was first listed in July 2020.
The insider also noted that the brand new property is near a private beach area where Martin owns multiple homes.
Meanwhile, the New York Post reported that based on Los Angeles property records, the band vocalist acquired the property a few months ago, on October 22, 2020, to be exact.
Property Details
Martin and Johnson's 5,338 square-feet Malibu love next features six-bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The modern Cape Cod-style estate boasts both romantic and exquisite amenities, including a game room, theater room, a pool with a hot tub, a spa room, and a full outdoor barbecue space.
Upon entering the Malibu mansion, you will be greeted by a panoramic view of the ocean. The house's double door allows a generous amount of natural light and allows you to absorb the outdoors beauty while staying inside.
Chris and Dakota can enjoy these views while lounging at the property's cozy high-ceiling living area that features a fireplace with built-in shelves.
The couple's new massive kitchen comes with a modern farmhouse sink and a marble island with a built-in wine cooler. Their master suite also comes with separate sinks and vanities.
The celebrity home is also perfect for entertaining family and friends as it comes with a two-story guest house and a permit to build a tennis court.
While the Malibu mansion is located in a prime area near the beach, commercial space, and school, Chris and Dakota need not worry about their privacy as the property is completed gates and features extensive security measures.
Dakota Johnson Los Angeles House
In March 2020, the 31-year-old actress opened the doors to her serene Los Angeles home. Through Architectural Digest, Dakota gave fans a glimpse of her midcentury modern home, which she bought for $3.55 million for 2016.
The 3,210 square-feet wood-framed house, which Dakto likened to a "treehouse on a boat," is the first real estate she has ever bought. It features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a living room with floor-to-ceiling glass walls mixed with wood panels and a picturesque view of the city lights.
The house built in 1974 was previously owned by Glee and American Crime Story creator Ryan Murphy.
"Ryan Murphy lived in this house first and he loved it so much too. But his family got bigger so he moved out," the "High Note" actress said.
One of the house's best features is Dakota's home office, where she keeps all her favorite books and memorabilia close to her heart. Some of which include a seating card from Patti Smith, a note from her grandmother, a photo from her Saturday Night Live appearance in 2015 together with Taylor Swift, Derek Jeter, 50 Cent, and more.
