Why stay in a five star hotel when you have the money to rent a mansion before a major performance of your career?
The much-awaited sporting event of the year is just around the corner, and while football teams are having a back-to-back training, the performer for the upcoming Super Bowl 2021 halftime show is busy throwing thousands of dollars for his accommodation.
Tampa Bay Mansion
According to Page Six, The Weeknd will be having luxurious weekend at a Tampa mansion - his accommodation of choice as he prepare for this Sunday's Super Bowl 2021 half-time show.
The "Blinding Lights" singer reportedly paid a whooping $100,000 to rent a $9.1 million-worth mansion near Davis Island.
According to the Realtor.com listing, the 6,000-square-foot modern behemoth on Riviera Drive features five ensuite bedrooms, one master suite, a massive pool, and a private dock.
Upstairs lies 13-feet floor-to-ceiling windows with an overlooking view of the beautiful Tampa Bay. The house is also perfect for entertaining guest with its rooftop terrace, excellent for sunset viewing. Meanwhile, the kitchen boasts high-tech appliances, a sub-zero double door fridge, and Marble countertops.
Normally, the Super Bowl producers provides for the production cost including the performer's accommodation. But it looks like the 30-year-old singer don't mind getting thousands of bucks from his own pocket to make sure he gets an accommodation better than what a five-star hotel could provide.
"Abel spent almost $7 million of his own money beyond the already generous budgets to make this halftime show be what he envisioned," The Weeknd's publicist told the news outlet.
Jut recently, The Weeknd delivered food from a Black-owned Tampa eatery to medical frontliners, in collaboration Postmates. As per WFLA, the singer sent 150 meals from Mama's Southern Soul Food for the AdventHealth Carrollwood workers.
The Weeknd Los Angeles Mansion
While the Canadian singer is busy splurging money renting a rehearsal mansion, The Weeknd seem having a hard time selling his Hidden Hills California Mansion.
According to the New York Post, the singer first put up his 12,547-square-foot estate in the market for $25 million in June 2020, but last December, the property's asking price had a $3 million mark down.
The Los Angeles wood-and-stone mansion features seven bedrooms and nine and a half bathroom. It boasts luxurious amenities including a full-size basketball court, five-car auto showroom, and a 300-bottle wine room with blue LED lights.
Upon entering the house surrounded with Redwood trees, guests will be greeted by a two-story foyer with striking wall of windows rich in natural light.
Inside the main house lies a huge family room complete with fireplace and a bar, a two-island kitchen, a home office, a state-of-the-art home theater, and full-packed fitness gym. The 3-acre estate comes with 2- bedroom guest house, which has its own pool and spa.
