Despite the coronavirus global pandemic, luxury mansions are being sold in different parts of America on a daily basis. But it is not every day you get to see a megamansion put up in an auction.
Earlier this month, a Beverly Hills mansion made history for being the first and most expensive house to hit the auction block. However, the final selling price of the $160 million-worth home was not yet disclosed.
According to the online auction company, Concierge Auction, the bidding for the extra exclusive "Villa Firenze" started last December 2020, but it was only last February 2, 2021, when it was sold to a buyer, whose identity was also not made public.
Based on the world's largest luxury real estate auction firm, as soon as the deal becomes final, the said mansion will become "the highest price ever achieved at auction for a single-family home."

Auction Process
According to realtor.com, before the Villa Firenze was placed for auction, the property sat on the market for two years. Last June 2020, billionaire Steven Udvar-Hazy, the massive real estate owner, even gave a $5 million markdown on the mansion's initial asking price.
In just nearly 53 days on the auction list, the Beverly Hills mansion gained 33,000 views from interested individuals from over 170 countries, particularly from the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
More than 1,800 "prospect buyer" showed interest, but only a total of 31 viewings were held. Some of the bidders who made generous offers came from the U.S and China.
Mr. Udvar-Hazy took a big risk of putting the megamansion for sale less than its whopping asking price. He also listed the villa in the auction without reservation and minimum price threshold.
"To the most affluent sellers, time is the ultimate resource," Chad Roffers, Concierge Auctions chairman, said in a press release.
"In only 53 days we secured a strong field of bidders - which ultimately resulted in breaking our own previous world record - and brought reach, speed, and certainty to our client. Not every seller has the risk tolerance to let the market speak, and it paid off in folds for our client," he added.
Meanwhile, as soon as the Villa Firenze buyer eventually closed the deal, Concierge Auctions will use their cut to build a new home for a family in need. In partnership with Giveback Homes, the money will be allotted through its philanthropic program called "Key for Key."
