Another day, another bizarre Zillow listing finds.
When the coronavirus global pandemic hit the same month last year, everyone suddenly found a new hobby of browsing real estate listings online. One of the most popular sources of entertainment in the US would be the property listing website, Zillow.
During the past few months, several Zillow listings went viral on social media due to its unusual feature. Some of which include a mannequin-filled duplex, a single family home straight out of a Halloween movie, and the brutally honest "worst house on the street."
Today, internet users have once again discovered a strange house feature from a single family home located in New York City.
Property Details
Based on the Zillow listing, the viral New York house for sale has a price tag of $425,000. It features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and recently undergone some kitchen and roof upgrades.
"Privately situated at the end of a cul de sac and boarding open space this large 4 bedroom, 3 bath Colonial w/pool is awaiting your touch," the listing overview reads.
The property in Ridge town built in 1986 has nearby schools where future homeowners could easily enroll their children.
Upon browsing the listing photos, everything looks like a typical outdated home complete with not-so-old furniture. The house boasts a spacious living room, dining area, kitchen, gym, pool, and backyard, which are all bathed in natural sunlight
Everything looks pretty normal until you reach the 19th photo that will sure leave you wondering, "What on Earth is this?"
It turns out that one out of the three bathrooms includes a mini-kitchen inside. And we assume that it is what the listing describes when the overview proudly states that the house has "flexible living areas to suit your needs."
Based on the photos, the toilet and bath has clearly set its boundaries from each other through a shower curtain. However, beside the toilet is a full kitchen complete with sink, over and top cabinetries, a stove, and oven. It looks like it came out of nowhere and seems lost in space.
Can you just imagine how the former owner probably prepared breakfast while taking a shower? Or cook some noodles while doing their business? It is hilariously odd to picture, right?
The internet reacts
Of course, social media users took the opportunity to make fun of the unusual feature of the New York house. One Facebook user seemed amused with the setup and even compared it to an RV house setting.
"I get the idea of using existing plumbing to add a kitchen for an apartment, MIL suite, or even in a pool house," the Facebook user wrote, as reported by Fox.
"A lot of RVs only have one sink, but there is a DOOR between the bath area and the living area! Folding shutters, folding closet doors, sliding closet doors, accordion doors... any kind of separation would make this plausible," he added.
Meanwhile, another user could be a potential buyer as he expressed wanting to have a bathroom/kitchen combo in one area.
"Always wanted a bathroom/kitchen combo. I think I'd fall over trying to reach the TP, but I guess putting it next to the stove could be a fire hazard," the user wrote.
