Elon Musk has recently proven that he is not only the richest man in the world but also the world's greatest influencer. It is after people took his simple words of encouragement as a marching order to move and migrate to Texas.
Last Tuesday, the Tesla Motors Co-founder and CEO took to Twitter and expressed his interest in building a wholly new Texas city called "Starbase." The soon-to-rise community will be built around Musk's SpaceX facility in the so-called "Lone Star State."
Musk coined the term "Starbase" to be used in Boca Chica Village, where Texas's SpaceX launch facility is currently located. Right now, the said community is relatively small and not yet incorporated in the nearby Cameron County.
"Please consider moving to Starbase or greater Brownsville/South Padre area in Texas & encourage friends to do so!" Elon Musk wrote.
"SpaceX's hiring needs for engineers, technicians, builders & essential support personnel of all kinds are growing rapidly," the SpaceX founder added.
In a follow-up tweet, the 49-year-old multi-billionaire said that Starbase is looking into expanding thousands of workforce in the next two years.

Based on SpaceX's official website, the aerospace company has over 1,000 job openings, but it looks like the big boss is looking forward to adding more to their teams as they conquer the world and even out-of-this-world territories.
The Elon Musk Effect
Musk's simple tweet, which now has 21,500 likes and 171,500 retweets, became a signal for people to look for available real estate properties in the area.
TMZ spoke to real estate agents in the area, who confirmed getting tons of inquiries after the billionaire's encouragement tweet. One agent even called the phenomenon "the Elon Musk effect," as 233-characters tweet resulted in a sudden interest in Texas houses for sale.
Some real estate agents told the news outlet that they have been getting calls from potential buyers from all over the country. One Boston-based customer inquired about a rental property in Brownsville, while an agent who already sold houses to seven SpaceX employees is still getting non-stop calls from buyers from Illinois, North Dakota, and Utah.
Another agent, who has been selling houses in Texas for nearly two decades, revealed that he got a call from a potential buyer in Kenya. That is how far the business magnate's influence could reach.
Meanwhile, officials in the Brownsville area felt that Musk's initiative to create a new city could boost Texas' jobs and tourism industry.
Tesla in Texas
It looks like Elon Musk is eager to create his own little world in Texas. In a separate tweet, Musk shared that Tesla is also coming to Texas and will need over 10,000 people in the following year.
"Over 10,000 people are needed for Giga Texas just through 2022! - 5 mins from airport -15 mins from downtown - Right on Colorado river," Musk wrote, alongside a tweet telling high school students how they can work for Tesla even without getting a college degree.
