Robin Williams' San Francisco Home for Sale: Price, Features and Everything You Need To Know

The San Francisco home of late actor and comedian Robin Williams was recently put up for sale by his former wife Marsha Garces Williams for $25 million, according to a report.

It is unclear when the three-story, 10,598-square-foot mansion was put up for sale. The property is currently owned by Marsha who was granted the house after divorcing Robin in 2010, according to San Francisco Chronicle.

The property was listed by Compass Nor Cal agent Steve Mavromihalis. It was put up for sale in 2010 for $5.4 million.

Robin Williams' San Francisco Mansion Features

Located in San Francisco's Sea Cliff neighborhood, the mansion was built in 1926 in the style of an Italian Renaissance Villa and was later acquired by the Williams in 1991 for $3.2 million. It later underwent extensive remodeling by the couple who lived in the mansion from the early '90s until 2010. Part of the remodeling saw the property taken down to the studs.

"Marsha and Robin Williams took the house down to the studs and rebuilt it in the early '90s, updating all the major systems," Mavromihalis told the Chronicle. "However, they took great pains to preserve the rare and valuable building materials used in 1926, which are simply no longer available in the construction of modern homes."

The $25 million property features a marble facade, terra-cotta roofing, columned archways, and wrought-iron details, per Top Ten Real Estate Deals. It also features extensive windows, hardwood flooring, a Japanese-style bathroom, and twenty rooms, and panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay.

In addition to the mansion's twenty rooms, it also features two secret spaces-a safe room hidden behind a paneled wall and a Prohibition-era bar behind a wall panel in the billiards room.

Other unique features include an in-property movie theater, a butler's pantry with wet bar, a gym, a whiskey room, a wine cellar, a tiled patio, and a sprawling garden.

The Williams' mansion is located in a neighborhood that houses other high-profile residents including Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammet. It is also located near 1,500 acres of hiking trails, two beaches, and Lincoln Park Golf Course.
