A historic 26.3-acre property in Pennsylvania that once served as the home to the heirs of Campbell Soup will be auctioned off next month.
Linden Hill, which is located in the town of Gladwyne, will be put up for auction in May. The property belonged to the heirs of Campbell Soup for 50 years, per Mansion Global, citing venture capitalist Robert Burch, the current owner.
"We are really hoping we find someone that can fall in love with this property the way we have," Burch said.
The 26.3-acre property was first owned by stockbroker Rodman Ellison Griscom. It was later bought by the Dorrance family, who started the Campbell Soup company, in the 1950s. Burch bought it in 1998 from a different owner. It has been on and off the market since. At times, it was listed for as much as $24.5 million.
The auction will be conducted online on May 20 and 21. The starting bid for the main residence is expected to be set at $2 million. All bidders are required to make a $100,000 deposit.

During the auction, the property will be split into two: the Linden Hill Estate and the Linden Hill Court. The main residence, Linden Hill Estate, stands over 13 acres and features a French Normandy design style.
First built by architect Edmund G. Gilchrist between 1928 and 1931, the main residence has seen multiple renovations since and is now equipped with modern amenities and restored hand-crafted millwork. The main residence also features a detached guest house with two bedrooms.
Linden Hill Estate's outdoor amenities include a family swimming pool, an entertainment swimming pool, a tennis court, decorative gardens, and fertile grounds for growing vegetables or flowers.
An adjacent property, the Linden Hill Court, spans over 12 acres and includes two more houses with a total of six bedrooms and four bathrooms. The property also offers modern amenities, secluded grounds, open pastures, and stone outbuildings. Additionally, the adjacent property features a 10-car garage, a maintenance building, a woodwork shop, and a two-stall barn.
Unlike Linden Hill Estate, the starting bid for the Linden Hill Court will be set at $1.5 million.
