Jeremy Renner, an actor known for his performances in The Town and in Marvel's Hawkeye, recently listed his Hollywood Hills home for nearly $13 million---more than 12 years after he first moved in.
The actor has put his 9,000-square-foot on the market for $12.9 million, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal. Renner purchased the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property for about $4 million in 2012 and spent $5.5 million on renovations throughout the 12 years he has lived in his home. In addition, the actor also spent much of his time on his property while he was recovering from injuries he sustained after he was crushed by a snowplow on New Year's Day in 2023.
The sale comes years after Renner said he had no intentions to sell his property, adding that he would never have invested in extensive renovations if he was planning to move out.
"I installed a massive solar-panel package that's one of the biggest in L.A. You'd never do that on a house you're going to sell because it takes four or five years to get your money back on the investment," he wrote on Tumblr.
Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Renner said he is now selling the home as part of an effort to downsize and focus on his recovery following the nearly fatal accident.
"It was kind of a forever home," he told the outlet.
Inside Renner's 9,000-Square-Foot Property
Renner's home may have undergone extensive renovations and expansions, with the main house more than doubling under his ownership. That being said, he kept the home's original elements, including its Midcentury lines.
Besides expanding the home's square footage, Renner added a music studio and graded the sloped areas for more usable outdoor space. Perhaps one of the biggest highlights of the actor's property is the bar, which is accessible from inside the home and from the covered patio in the backyard, according to photos of the property.
Renner's kitchen is also a standout, featuring all-black cabinets and two center islands, one of which doubles as a breakfast nook lit by natural light from the skylight.
Other home features include a filled-in pebble walkway surrounded by greenery, a stone staircase, large double glass doors, an open floor plan, and an expansive indoor and outdoor living space.
The listing is currently held by The Beverly Hills Estates.
